...Coyote Pup.  It received Honorable Mention at the Santa Fe Reporter Photo Contest.  The silent auction held by The Reporter on Tuesday evening, 25 April, for the benefit of the New Mexico Foundation for Open Government, featured 12 pieces of photography printed on linen by Monsoon Design.  The work is included in the newspaper's "Annual Manual" of all things Santa Fe.  Here is a photograph my husband, Fred, took of me at the event.  Some of you have already seen it on Facebook.

It was a day of variable weather in northern New Mexico, which lead to dramatic skies as we drove into the Railyard area and the Violet Crown Cinema, where the silent auction took place.  Naturally, I had to get out with my camera and do a bit of shooting.  Below is a photograph of what has become the iconic Santa Fe Railyard water tank.

I cannot overstate the quality of craftsmanship of the tank and the entire Railyard Park, designed by Frederic Schwartz Architects of New York City. Here is a black and white shot of some of the details.

I could not resist photographing some reflections in the windows of the of the Violet Crown Cinema of water tank's brushed metal letters.

Thanks to Sue and Bill Primm, who are now the owners of the coyote pup portrait, and to those of you who supported the event.

until next Monday,

Your photograph was one of the standouts at the Santa Fe Reporter opening. I'm glad we had the opportunity to attend. The direct gaze of the coyote pup is so engaging. The little critter seemed to be posing for you. And on the technical side, your image stood up to the extreme enlargement better than any other in the show. Congratulations, mi amiga.
